Montevina got its start in 1970 in the Sierra Foothills and quickly became well known for its peppy, full-flavored red wines.
In 1970, Montevina broke ground in the Sierra Foothills, eventually releasing its first wines three years later. Since that initial release, Montevina's reputation has grown as a provider of robust varietals, including incredible expressions of Zinfandel. The vineyard's success inspired a well-deserved revival of this region's historic wine industry, and today, this area rivals the most fertile wine regions in the world as a producer of fine vintages.
Montevina also specializes in Italian varietal wines, such as Sangiovese, Aglianico and Barbera. Among its more traditional varietals, the Montevina Cabernet Sauvignon delivers silky tannins and leaves hints of allspice and dark chocolate on the palate. The succulent Pinot Grigio blends the refreshing flavors of Bartlett pears and citrus with a subtly spicy finish. And the White Zinfandel, with delightful aromas of summer strawberries and honeydew melons, has been an award winner for 30 years. Of the ten varietals produced with regularity, the Montevina label offers plenty of ways to please. Discover them for yourself.
